Superficial ‘news’ sites are being biased in exchange for ‘reputation laundering’ money
Summary: People who are drunk on power and money (sometimes not even their own money) like to portray themselves as the very opposite of what they are; but in the age of the Internet it’s difficult to make the general public simply forget the past and “move on…”
THE CRIMES committed by Microsoft for decades never ended. Maybe some of the criticism ended, in part due to the demise of journalism and at times owing to bribery. We’ve given many examples of this bribery and will certainly show more in the future.
“…people haven’t missed the irony of the world’s richest person seeking to portray himself as the world’s most generous person (generous enough to double his wealth in a few years!).”Half a decade ago the European Patent Office (EPO) was routinely blasted in the media for its abuses, its corruption and reputation crisis. The EPO responded by bribing and threatening publishers. We gave some examples of that; we too were at the receiving end. When the EPO is run by Mafia types like António Campinos and Beno?t Battistelli threats and bribes are instincts, they’re like reflexes.
Sadly for them (either Microsoft or corrupt EPO managers), these muzzling attempts too will become scandals in their own right; people haven’t missed the irony of the world’s richest person seeking to portray himself as the world’s most generous person (generous enough to double his wealth in a few years!). Many people nowadays reject this fiction, which was paid for (bribery of publishers for hagiographies).
Stay tuned for some big stories! █

The latest excuse we hear is “coronavirus” (as if journalism cannot be done from one’s 全民彩票官网下载), leaving corruption unreported or grossly under-reported
Summary: Very major corruption scandals still emerge in Europe’s second-largest institution and illegal patents get granted as well as promoted; somehow, perhaps miraculously, this no longer seems to bother anybody in the media (corruption and radical policies have been gradually ‘normalised’)
THE LAW is seen as a “barrier” when your sole goal is to cheat the law and defraud the system. This is why the current leadership of the USPTO goes out of its way to ignore/bypass 35 U.S.C. § 101. This is why European Patent Office (EPO) leadership only ever pretends to give a damn about the EPC.
Yesterday, citing “DigitalisationIndex” again, the EPO bragged about “data retrieval” patent applications. “In 2019,” the , “we received 4% more patent applications in data retrieval than the year before. More on the latest patenting trends here: http://bit.ly/DigitalisationIndex …”
“But in today’s EPO corruption has become the default mode and radicalism became the norm a few years ago (like the Trump administration).”These are software patent applications that must be rejected in Europe. They’re illegal. But today’s EPO grants them anyway and António Campinos lobbies for them (even pressuring judges on the matter) just to fake so-called ‘production’ and spur more frivolous patent lawsuits over mere algorithms, which copyright law already covers regardless.
Separately, , “Official Journal 5/全民彩票网址 is now available online” (it can be found ; warning:
epo.org link). “List of professional representatives before the EPO” is included. Does it include more corruption like this? It’s hard to tell without a lot of research. But in today’s EPO corruption has become the default mode and radicalism became the norm a few years ago (like the Trump administration).
Remember 2015 or thereabouts, back when media across Europe actually did cover EPO corruption on occasions? Before EPO management bribed and intimidated it? Once upon a time even Managing IP dared mention at least some of the corruption, some of the time, but almost nobody who wrote for Managing IP back then still works there. Maybe none at all! Hard to name a single person…
Managing IP now takes money (bribes) to [sic] and days ago we also saw composed by “Julia Anne Matheson and Anna Kurian Shaw of Hogan Lovells” on behalf of clients (megaphones for big clients as ‘news’)…
This is really terrible…
Months ago we also saw Managing IP‘s Patrick Wingrove lobbying an FCC judge (Justice Huber) to manufacture a bunch of misleading ‘news’. They’re shamelessly promoting the UPC, looking to manufacture caselaw for software patents using a crooked system of litigation controlled by the same thugs who spent a decade attacking the EPC, nakedly and shamelessly. Not too shockingly Wingrove has also just some fluff for Beno?t Battistelli‘s buddy Thierry Breton, who’s pushing for the UPC in defiance of Justice Huber and his FCC colleagues [1, 2]. With so much corruption in the recent past of Mr. Breton, one has to wonder how he managed to find his way into a top EU job. And to quote:
The EU should ramp up efforts to find “pragmatic solutions” for standard essential patents and to create a single European patent system, internal market commissioner Thierry Breton announced to the European Parliament this week.
The commissioner made these statements in French during his opening remarks to the JURI committee via video conference, where he also spoke about the need to reform data laws in the EU as part of a new regulation for the information society.
“It’s a major challenge for our economic recovery,” he said.
The European Commission is currently considering a competition complaint made by German car manufacturer Daimler against Finnish telecoms company Nokia over licensing terms for connectivity technologies in cars.
EU competition regulators quizzed Daimler and some of its suppliers involved in the complaint in March on why talks on patent licensing arrangements failed between these companies.
On the matter of a single patent system, EU member states and the European Parliament agreed on a patent package nearly a decade ago, in 2012, which included the establishment of a Unified Patent Court.
The harmonised patent project was dealt a huge blow this year, however, after the UK announced that it would not participate after Brexit and the German Federal Constitutional court upheld a complaint made against the system’s ratification.
Wait, who was this a blow to? Oh, that’s right, the clients of Managing IP, a megaphone of the litigation ‘industry’. Poor predators… █

Summary: Weaponised media continues to manufacture utterly ridiculous puff pieces for Team UPC, containing intentional lies from beginning to end
What a bunch of lying losers…
We’ve grown tried of having to rebut their lies, but it definitely needs to be done. Somebody needs to correct them.
The nature of Big Lies is that if repeated often enough and flung at the wall in sufficiency large quantities, something might stick.
“The nature of Big Lies is that if repeated often enough and flung at the wall in sufficiency large quantities, something might stick.”As an example, over the past 4-5 years the European Patent Office (EPO) wrote “tweets” about so-called ‘SMEs’ several times per week. It’s becoming harder for an outside observer to understand just how much harm the EPO causes, especially to SMEs. The EPO keeps repeating its propaganda again and again, not just in mere “tweets” but also videos and Web pages, sometimes so-called ‘reports’ and ‘papers’…
See, today’s EPO is run by liars and politicians (which is what António Campinos and Beno?t Battistelli really are). To them, science hasn’t any real value; it’s all about public perception. Never mind facts when political pandering is so much more effective.
“We predict that 全民彩票网址 will be full/saturated with more farcical ‘articles’ like these; they’ll try to spin COVID-19 in every possible way, somehow portraying a major barrier as an upside or “opportunity” (it’s not; the very opposite is true).”EPO set aside, consider Alexander Ramsey, who spearheads (Team) UPC even though he’s hardly an objective actor (see career history and affiliations). Typical caricature of a failed coup based on faked premises…
Something called “ResearchEurope” in Twitter the other day that “[a]fter multiple setbacks, Europe’s unitary patent could help with the recovery from the pandemic (€)…”
What an utter lie (it’s patently false!) from chronic liars. This UPC plot is and has long been an SME killer, even by design. Why print deliberate lies? Ben Upton published a 100% puff piece for Alexander Ramsey, disguised as something professional, :
After multiple setbacks, Europe’s unitary patent could get a surprising kickstart from Covid-19
To protect an invention across Europe, patent holders must pay fees for every member state in which they want coverage. If someone disputes their ownership, they may have to fight cases in multiple courts far from their 全民彩票官网下载, with the costs potentially enormous.
No, this is what global conglomerates like pharmaceutical giants do, and usually they’re not even European. The European companies are their victims, the defendants.
“Europe’s unitary patent could get a surprising kickstart from Covid-19″ is an absolutely ridiculous, contemptible lie. It’s no secret that the very opposite is true! First of all, politicians aren’t around and many people aren’t going to work. So Team UPC is unable to do anything! Moreover, courts barely function.
It has been widely asserted around the Web that this pandemic will — if anything — further harm the UPC lobby.
But who cares about facts anyway…
Secondly, “Europe’s unitary patent” is technically and legally dead, not clinically perhaps…
It exists merely as a zombie or a ghost. You could argue that Elvis too is still around… albeit 6 feet under.
The above nonsense was , who joked: “After the corona crisis, the patent crisis, or how to boost the economy with more patent trolls and lawsuits…”
“Probably a a new astroturting site hiding the lies behind paywalls,” I joked with him. I never before saw this “ResearchEurope” site. So much for ‘research’…
Couldn’t even do the most fundamental fact-checking; it wouldn’t have been too hard…
But anyway, another day, another lie. Another site puts its credibility to rest. We’ve become used to it.
Just about a month ago was noticed IP Law Galli’s Cesare Galli his that piggybacked COVID-19 in Italy and said (under the headline “Patent infringement to deal with COVID-19 emergency: possible exemptions”): “In addition, this exemption excludes any professional conduct of contributory infringement, such as the supply by a professional – even to private individuals – of the essential means to allow infringements and, in particular, the supply of files or projects made by third parties with the precise purpose of allowing the reproduction of a patented product. The rule is now contained in Article 26 of the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court; the Italian legislature has also implemented it, introducing a corresponding rule in Article 66 of the IIPC.”
Well, this “Agreement on a Unified Patent Court” is basically dead and was already dead for well over a month (if not years) prior to this article. So who are those people kidding? Do they think that bringing it up and naming it every now and then will somehow summon its spirit, waking it up like some ghostly entity?
We predict that 全民彩票网址 will be full/saturated with more farcical ‘articles’ like these; they’ll try to spin COVID-19 in every possible way, somehow portraying a major barrier as an upside or “opportunity” (it’s not; the very opposite is true). █

Summary: The whole ‘unitary’ scam/ploy (merely a Trojan horse for litigation and low-quality/invalid patents) is being promoted by Thierry Breton as EU Internal Market Commissioner (in spite of illegalities and constitutional issues), merely reinforcing the view that the EU is rather complicit in the abuses perpetrated by Team Battistelli; the media in the pockets of oligarchs and litigation firms (fronting for these oligarchs) plays along, as usual
THE European Patent Office (EPO) is not governed by scientists but by politicians (of political families). Currently it is António Campinos, who has not a clue what he talks about, so he’s name-dropping meaningless buzzwords instead. We’re pretty certain that the technical examiners can see through his ignorance; he’s technically illiterate. Yet he summoned the audacity to pressure judges to allow software patents in Europe… probably for no reason other than so-called ‘production’.
“This certainly tarnishes the image of the EU; the EPO is a liability here…”Unfortunately, the EU seems eager to defend rather than blast the EPO for its illegal behaviour. This certainly tarnishes the image of the EU; the EPO is a liability here…
Corrupt Thierry Breton which said:
The European Union needs to speed up its plans to create a unitary patent system, as the current regulations are “too expensive and fragmented”, said EU Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton.
Addressing members of the European Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee on Monday, Thierry Breton drew attention to previous EU attempts to create a single European patent system as a means of promoting technological innovation.
“The EU has a solid framework for intellectual property, but the current system needs to be much more efficient. It is too fragmented and too expensive. And it needs to be adapted to the challenges of the digital age and the environment”, said Thierry Breton. The creation of a “single European patent system” is one of the bloc’s top priorities as part of a series of political priorities following the coronavirus control, he added.
So “political priorities following the coronavirus control” is an SME killer? Seriously? The super-rich people got a lot wealthier during the pandemic (many articles about it this month), mostly at the expense of dying SMEs along with the middle class. And what does Thierry Breton seek to accomplish? Sadly, this is directly associated with the EU, not just the German government. What will historians make of it? It’s worth noting that every statement quoted above (from Breton) is patently false. Considering his fraudulent career, that’s rather normal from him…
Anyway, we very strongly doubt the UPCA’s successor (if any will exist) can be rammed down our throats. There are serious constitutional issues in several countries, never mind Germany’s (or Brexit).
“Anyway, we very strongly doubt the UPCA’s successor (if any will exist) can be rammed down our throats. There are serious constitutional issues in several countries, never mind Germany’s (or Brexit).”Team UPC has not given up just yet, at least not the most radical factions of it (those who fabricate and disseminate false rumours). Here come Bristows again, spreading fictional nonsense, then bragging about it in Twitter and in their blog, amplifying the lies told to and via Juve (where Amy Sandys works for Team UPC as their megaphone; Juve became worse than a joke in a matter of few years).
“Rich Pinckney and others spoke to @全民彩票网址JuvePatent about the future of the patent litigation market after UK government’s decision to withdraw from the #UnifiedPatentCourt,” Bristows and :
Richard Pinckney spoke to editor Amy Sandys of Juve Patent about the future of UK’s patent litigation market, after the government’s decision to withdraw from the Unified Patent Court.
Notice the term “patent litigation market” (yes, market).
So we have ‘production’ (of monopolies) and a ‘market’ (of lawsuits).
“Notice the term “patent litigation market” (yes, market).”Great vision for Europe, eh?
“What do you do for a living, Sir?”
“I produce papers for the lawsuits market, Madam!”
This is basically the image Team UPC lays out for Europe. Great for them; not for anybody else…
Speaking of the UPC, yesterday the EPO unleashed this and (warning:
“So we have ‘production’ (of monopolies) and a ‘market’ (of lawsuits).”As readers are aware, Brazil will soon surpass Spain when it comes to the number of COVID-19-associated deaths. But to hell with Brazil, the US or even the UK (part of EPC)… the political pandering has an agenda in mind. The EPO did this for Spain yesterday and Italy last month… but never for the UK (worst affected). Did the EPO write a “news” article for solidarity with the British people, where the “official” death toll is now somewhere around 38,000 (and real one estimated at over 50,000)? No.
But maybe because Spain opposes UPC or anything like it (for legitimate reasons) the EPO hopes to pull something off. Maybe not…
Here’s the text published yesterday:
Spain has declared a period of mourning until 5 June as a result of the lives lost from Coronavirus. The management and staff of the EPO wishes to express their deepest sympathy for the people of Spain and our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have been lost.
As an act of solidarity in these difficult times, the Office has lowered the Spanish flags or marked them with a sign of mourning at its sites.
The tweet said: “We join the people of Spain as they enter a period of mourning and will lower the Spanish flag at our premises in Munich and the Hague. The flags will remain at half-mast until 5 June as we remember the lives lost and families affected by Covid-19…” (28 May 全民彩票网址)
“Never let a health crisis go to waste, right?”As if the EPO ever valued people’s lived; many of the patents granted by the EPO cause people to die because they’re poor. And staff of the EPO is chronically depressed due to the EPO’s abuses. But never mind that. Never let a health crisis go to waste, right? █

…And The World Will Not Change for the Better Unless or Until People Demand That
Did anybody really think that a person chosen by Battistelli to succeed Battistelli would be any different? As SUEPO put it 2 months ago: “Are we back to the Battistelli era?”
Summary: Projection tactics are doomed to say more about the people who utilise them than about anybody else; the EPO has become so autocratic and corrupt that corruption is seen as normal and workers who explain this corruption are framed as “irrational” or “crazy” or “radical”
TRUISMS be told, no society is stagnant. Things change all the time. Politically, economically, legally…
Remember that hundreds of years ago we had no copyright law, no patent law, and drug distributions were governed very differently. We’re not passing criticism or hailing particular policies; it’s just an observation.
Society generally changes over time; sometimes the changes are driven solely by whatever we call them: oligarchs, kings, plutocrats, masters and feudal lords… these tend to be top-down changes, either intended to appease the ‘masses’ (‘plebs’, ‘peasants’…) or to forcibly crush them. Pacifying the people means that rebellion becomes less likely; a form of power compromise… “I hand over to you some of the powers previously reserved to me, so perhaps you’ll accept my authority if not very existence…”
“Mr. Campinos does not even respect a fundamental right like free speech. He has blocked Techrights (imposing the block on about 7,000 people) for nearly 2 years.”Techrights isn’t (and was never) a revolutionary site. Political? Hardly. Daily Links might be… but criticisms of the EPO, for instance, deal with law and with technical matters. The political aspects come to it only because politicians like António Campinos and Beno?t Battistelli (also sons of politicians) were put in charge. This was never supposed to happen. Campinos comes from a rather ‘radical’ socialist family; he lacks background in the sciences (no wonder he thinks we need software patents in Europe) and thus far his sole preoccupation at the EPO was with “production”, i.e. giving as many monopolies as possible, usually to very large companies. No doubt his father (if he was still alive) would be extremely disappointed. Mr. Campinos does not even respect a fundamental right like free speech. He has blocked Techrights (imposing the block on about 7,000 people) for nearly 2 years.
“It’s too easy to accuse others of what oneself is already abundantly guilty of.”The way I see it, Battistelli and Campinos are the Mao types; no wonder they embark on so many photo tours and take photo ops with the Communist Party of China全民彩票网址 (CPC, or CCP). Suits them right…
The Marxist ‘Educate, agitate, organise’ [, , ] comes to mind; and then they have the audacity to portray critics and antagonists of theirs as anarchic, blocking their sites, threatening them, claiming that they engage in “defamation” (guess who the courts deemed to be guilty of defamation; those are cheap projection tactics).
It’s too easy to accuse others of what oneself is already abundantly guilty of. For instance, they’d have the public believe that anyone who does not agree with them is somehow a “radical” “rebel”; or as put it:
Is encouraging openness and diverse networks really radical? After all, what are we all here for? Universities are here to create new knowledge and disseminate it for the social good, to make a difference.
Unlike the patent system, which limits the dissemination by restriction and litigation. In its very beginning it was at least conceived with positive intentions; it rewarded people to publish (in paper form) their tricks and tips, various methodologies and designs that when assembled could produce innovative new products like efficient grinding mills. Not some bloody algorithm that presents a progress bar on a screen or some perturbed form of pig, whose genetics were edited for the sole purpose of obesity (glorified breeding) and of course monopolisation.
“As we’ve pointed out here many times over the years, the ideas expressed by patent maximalists are far more radical.”People like myself and many others who pursue changes to the status quo — be it in software or the patent system that ruins software developments — aren’t radical at all. As we’ve pointed out here many times over the years, the ideas expressed by patent maximalists are far more radical. A quick look at Watchtroll oftentimes shows unbelievably zealous and antisocial behaviour. That is why we never ever link to that site anymore (it’s the only such site); the EPO’s management not only links to that site but closely cooperates with it. That says a lot about the radical nature of today’s EPO. If anyone out there is radical it’s not us. “Feminism is the radical notion that women are human beings,” Cheris Kramerae famously said. Yes, we’re ‘radical’ in that sense that we believe in — Heaven forbid! — justice. █

Summary: IP Kat and Bristows (overlaps exist) are still pretending that the UPC is coming because reality doesn’t seem to matter anymore, only self-serving agenda
THE TRUTH does not matter to lobbyists and hacks. All that matters to them is what pays…
Team UPC is a classic example of 24/7 “lying 全民彩票网址…”
“It’s rather astounding what kinds of lies they can get away with, even claiming the very opposite of what’s true (e.g. UPC being for SMEs).”What makes those 全民彩票网址 rather unique is that they’ve relentlessly worked for nearly a decade. It’s rather astounding what kinds of lies they can get away with, even claiming the very opposite of what’s true (e.g. UPC being for SMEs).
Authored by Sophie Corke yesterday was item. Filed under “fundamental rights” is an item that does anything but…
Remember that patents aren’t rights, either. Let alone anything fundamental… unless you ask patent fundamentalists.
“Remember that patents aren’t rights, either. Let alone anything fundamental… unless you ask patent fundamentalists.”It doesn’t even take much effort to find the scent of corruption; they do this almost every week, advertising for Beno?t Battistelli‘s ‘law’ 全民彩票官网登录 and pushing (recyclying) lies from European Patent Office (EPO) management. 全民彩票官网下载 maximalists and patent maximalists’ front groups can view this blog as their megaphone and here’s what placement CEIPI got yesterday: “The Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) at the University of Strasbourg has announced details of its forthcoming Diploma on Patent Litigation in Europe, successful completion of which will allow patent attorneys to represent clients before the UPC and advise on unitary patent matters, come the entry into force of the European Patent Package.”
I cannot blame Mr. Henrion for . Nor can I say that this surprises me…
“Remember that the so-called ‘law’ 全民彩票官网登录 chose a criminal to become its chief.”So the ‘Kat’ is once again advertising for CEIPI which is run by Battistelli while pushing the UPC delusion to leaders and readers. Why? What on Earth happened to this blog? We wrote a number of blog posts on this subject. tl;dr it’s no longer run by the same people and the direction is altogether different.
Henrion to the part which says “come the entry into force of the European Patent Package.” He called that “patent attorneys recycled in patent judges without a law degree.”
Remember that the so-called ‘law’ 全民彩票官网登录 chose a criminal to become its chief. Lecturers weren’t happy; what would students think? Wouldn’t it be funny if this ‘law’ 全民彩票官网登录 got raided one day and its chief put under arrest with lots of serious allegations/charges? What would the university say?
“Maybe the crook from CEIPI can seek to bribe some more press outlets and politicians to change that…”Anyway, aside from the above we’ve just noticed Bristows (Gregory Bacon) pretending that UPC faces issues only
They’re catching up with old news and then adding: “The written question from Mr Breyer comprised the three questions below. The Commission should answer (non-priority) written questions within 6 weeks but often this time limit is not met.”
That question is, if anything, symbolising growing resistance among politicians to the UPC. There’s no real political will anymore. Maybe the crook from CEIPI can seek to bribe some more press outlets and politicians to change that…
What are students being taught at CEIPI? Lying, cheating and bullying? If one is to judge by who gets promoted, that might be the underlying lesson. █

Beno?t Battistelli still in the shadows…
Summary: As expected, Breton acts as little but an EPO tool, looking to prop up supremacy of patent litigation over science and innovation
WHO would have guessed…
This morning a Bill Gates-funded (bribed) Web site spoke about Breton helping only repeats all the lies (fact-checking not required) and starts with: “The EU should speed up plans to create a single European patents system because the current setup is “too expensive and fragmented,” Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton has said.”
“They’ve been lying for over a decade, so why stop now?”This is , though we found it .
This is a lie from Breton (everything he says). He now sounds like Michel Barnier, another Frenchman serving Battistelli’s agenda (hence António Campinos agenda too; remember who set up this job for him).
We don’t expect UPC propaganda to stop, not even after the UPC's death. They’ve been lying for over a decade, so why stop now? █
